Then on top of that, the cashier at the front tried to guilt me into leaving a tip, knowing I was unsatisfied.
Ulta beauty has a great variety of makeup, from drugstore to high end. You are allowed to test products, and the ladies there are super sweet and kind. News flash to all of the bad reviews: if you approach someone w/ a bad attitude chances are that they will give you one back. I think that ulta is a great place to shop for makeup, but the only reason I am taking of one star is because there is only one register open at all times.
Very busy location, a little chaotic if I may suggest. Customer service was okay, nothing extraordinary. You don't get help when you need it neither are you acknowledged when you walk in. I still prefer the location off NY Ave NE, at least there is free parking at the NY location.

Don't get me wrong, my hair turned out great even though it only lasted 75 seconds outside.. (can't blame anyone for mother nature) but I will not be going there again. It is not the salon you go to if you have natural hair.
DON'T GO IF YOU HAVE NATURAL HAIR. Unsatisfied with one of the elite salon stylists ( I won't say her name because she was a nice lady). I went in there with the intention of getting my hair flat ironed, and that was a mistake on its own because I am natural. The stylist washed my hair and hurt the hell out of my neck, I thought it was gonna snap in half lol!! Yanking and pulling.. no knowledge on how to detangle natural hair. She said "good thing you're not tender headed" ... I was thinking well damn I can still feel it! I'm just not gonna be hollering and carrying on...
Finally, I enlisted the support of someone else there, who happened to be an assistant manager. Though we did not find what I needed, as they may have sold out, she did make an earnest attempt to assist.
Worst customer service! Every service or product I asked about the employee had to go find someone else. I've been going to ULTA for over a decade and never experienced such poor service. I'm use to most stylists knowing how to wax eyebrows. They should really gave more than one person who can perform that service especially if that person takes off for the xay5.
I have been visiting this ULTA for years and it seems that the customer service is getting worse. I agree with what many of the reviewers pointed out in previous reviews that you cannot get any assistance when you need it. The make-up artists and customer service associates on the floor are terribly incompetent and have forgotten that they are there to offer support. Because I frequent the location often and do well finding what I need, without having to beg for service so I'm pretty used to it. I visited downtown silver spring this past Saturday November 4, 2017 specifically to purchase a beauty product from Ulta and the woman on the floor should have stayed home on this day. She was disgustingly short with me and disinterested in providing any level of customer service. She's been an employee at the store for quite some time and I"m actually used to her lack of professionalism, but there were no other sales associates on the floor as far as I could see and I needed to quickly get what I needed to be on my way. My 7 and 5 year old even recognized her incompetency and proceeded to assist me with finding the product I was looking for.
Got done washing and now drying my hair ever so roughly, and then I had to wait in the chair for her to do something to two other clients hair. If im paying all this money, I shouldn't have to wait.
She had to cut a couple of inches off my hair, because I needed a trim. Cool. But she never mentioned a price for the trim, and charged me as if I was getting a regular hair cut... I have never in my life had a salon charge me that much for a trim.. and they're talking about "a cut is a cut ".. NO IT'S NOT. It's not like she styled it.
I believe everyone is entitled to having one or two or three bad days, but if you take a look at the reviews here, Ulta Silver Spring offers poor customer service consistently. This says to me that this is not just a few bad days, but moreso the culture of the environment. Needless to say, if you want some level of acceptable customer service and if you don't quite know where to find what you're looking for, do NOT visit Ulta Silver Spring.
